Blogger Reflection Award

award

Nicole over at All 4 My Gals has nominated me for this blogging award. If she hadn’t given this to me, I would certainly give it to her. Hers is one of those blogs that I always click on whether I have an hour to read or 5 minutes. She and I “met” online on a Down syndrome board, and we have since met in real life. When I read her posts on our message board and on her blog, I have often thought (seriously), “Darn it! I wish DS16 was younger than her Tarenne, so I could learn from her!” She believes completely in T and in her gifts and abilities, and when I am going along “ho hum” about all things Down syndrome, she finds yet another jewel that makes me appreciate my own gift of a child with DS even more.

Nicole wrote a very kind little blurb about me on her blog in which she says: Karen at “Chewy Mom” is one of my favorite people that I have ever met. We too established relationship due to having Down syndrome in our lives. Karen is one of those women that you would give anything to live next door to. She is real, compassionate, funny, smart and honest. I wish I could be Karen! When we met in real life I was not disappointed in any way. She was exactly who I knew her to be. I love Karen for so many reasons. I learn from her every time I read her blog. She is a great Godly example in my life and I would trust her with any aspect of my life!

I would like to nominate the following five people for this award:

1. Heather at Especially Heather. Heather was going along, minding her own bloggy-business when she was shockingly diagnosed with a brain tumor! She was already a blogger who was real and genuine and who made you think, but now…wow. She is just raw and true and shares her journey from the heart. Her Jesus-love comes through in every aspect of her life in a refreshing way. You just have to read her blog for yourself.

2. All of the gals over at True Womahood. The women who post over at True Womanhood are truly wise women. The comments are always so…passionate, thought-provoking, and just plain interesting! Check out that blog if you want to really think through women’s issues from a biblical perspective.

3. Tim at Mission Safari has had an amazing journey as a medical missionary in Kenya. I have lived vicariously and learned a ton as I have read his blog over the past few years, and now I look forward to hearing more about his family’s journey now that they are back stateside.

4. Mopsy at Lifenut makes me reflect and think. I believe she has that effect on everyone. She is a truly gifted writer and I am always thrilled to read a new post of hers!

5. Carmen who blogs both at Elff Diet and at Mom to the Screaming Masses is a fun, bubbly blogger. She has six kids, she blogs about life, and she is positively inspiring in her weight loss.
