Barack Obama

At this very moment, I am sitting in my den along with Brig and Ben. The Republican debate just ended and the Democratic one is about to begin. Ben pointed out that Brig (my son with Down syndrome, by the way) needs to pay attention because he will actually be old enough to VOTE in the presidential election! How exciting is that?

Brig responded, “I already know who to vote for. Barack Obama.”

    Very awesome!

    GO BRIG!

I can’t wait to see him with his “I voted” sticker in November!

What!? Real names–no more DS & DD? Did I miss something? I was all proud of myself for skulking around & catching their names in random slip-ups. Ah well–it’s probably easier this way, since they keep having birthdays & changing their numbers & all…

    BTW–great new page. Very fun!

Yeah, we (Chewydad and I) decided to start using real names. The kids were okay with it, and frankly it was getting confusing since Brig was DS15 only 18 months ago and now Ben is DS15, and if you go back and read old posts…well, anyway, I was getting confused. And I’m their mother!! So yeah, now you know their real names (if you didn’t already)!

    Hi Chewymom
just found this website…very interesting. My son is soon to be 13..I am a little leery of the teen years. Not so much because of my son but because of junior high and high schoolers reaction to him. Not only does he have DS but also Hirschsprungs, so incontinence is a problem. Oh well, as I have said for the last 13 years, one day at a time.
Anyway, what prompted me to write wasn’t the Down Syndrome that links us but my concern about Barack…yes he is a smooth talker but please look into Trinity Church of Christ which he belongs to and look into his background before you actually go forward with voting for him.
