As the summer comes to a close I can breathe a sigh of relief, realizing that summer is no longer my favorite season. Sure, as a kid it makes sense to love the summer months, what with its lack of school and other childish responsibility. As I get older, though, the hot, scorching, and humid months no longer impress me. Fall is the new trend in seasons if you ask an old fool like me.
Fall is a time for foliage awe, sweater wearing, bonfires, and jumping into piles of leaves. This year we are lucky because it seems the warmth of a sweltering summer will linger through the otherwise chilly autumn months making it mild and cozy. “As far as Philadelphia and New York City, I would expect that you’re not going to see many arctic shots or cold shots to spoil your plans here in the fall,” AccuWeather Expert Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.1
Though we are not promised much rain, my obsession for cute rain boot and umbrella combos does not subside. Even if it’s a day or two of rain, moms need to be out there in the elements no matter what.
I’ve taken some time to find these insanely cute rain boots. It’s really a dangerous job as I am so very tempted to purchase each and every single one of them. Check them out.

Amazing Rain Boots
If you asked me which pair is my top favorite I would have to answer with a lame, “I don’t know.” I swear these rain boots are all so cute I just can’t stand it. Shopping for these boots began when I walked through the door with a squish and a squirt from a tiny hole in my rain boot, trailing tiny puddles like a pump as a walked over to the hall closet to take off my rain gear. Yep, I got a flat in my rain boot.
Here’s trouble, I wasn’t kidding when I said I don’t know which of the ones below to order. Could you maybe make a suggestion on what you’d get in the comment area following the post? That would be the besteset ever!
I am torn between mostly the Buffy Boots and either of the Nomads. Help! Buffy remind me of my grandmother (in the most awesome and admiring way) and the Nomads are so darn beautiful; like little works of art.
The Ingenious Umbrella That Will Be Your Last
Now, when it comes to umbrellas I have so many that I’ve lost count. We don’t have them for the style. They are black, and gray, and one of them is champagne, I think. They all have something in common — they are coming apart. This collection of sorry excuses for umbrellas are torn, used, and nearly useless. The material has been slipping off of the umbrella ribs making most of our umbrellas useless because they no longer protect from the wet and cold rain. Honestly, I am not sure why we still have them other than to have something in case of an emergency.
Unlike the boots, an umbrella is a necessity. And now that I have found the reverse fold umbrella, I don’t think I’ll ever buy any other kind. What is a reverse fold umbrella? It’s exactly what it sounds like.
Moms who are in the market for a new umbrella simply can’t pass this up. It’s almost like it was an answer to my prayers. Getting your kid into a car seat in a downpour, oh let’s face it, even in a mist is annoying when your whole backside is soaked through to your underwear by the time you reach the drivers seat. Great! Have a fun trip, right? NO MORE! Most of these umbrellas feature the free hand handle so that you are free to use your hands while staying dry. This is the problem solver right here. Check it out.

Rain Gear for Girls
All the items below were researched and hand picked by me. These are the things that we already own or have been deeply researched with the conclusion that folks out there are practically raving about the products that are to follow. I absolutely adore the girls and boys rain gear listed below and am wondering what your thoughts are on them.
I don’t have a boy, so it’s safe to say that I do not have any personal experience with the items suited for boys but as always I bring you very thorough research by reading countless reviews and articles stating their proclamation for the products usability, attractiveness, cost, and durability.
With that said, one of my close friends sons has the fireman rain coat and I can’t get enough of this kid pretending to put imaginary fires out. The sun can be shining and birds chirping away, but Benj isn’t phased as he swooshes past my legs to the sound of his own siren in a cardboard box while Bossy plays catch up. I also love the batman everything.
Now to the girls, tee-hee, I am so excited. Bossy is currently awaiting the Hatley splash jacket in pink with blue medallions, the Plemo Umbrella, and the floral Western Chief boots. Purple is the name of the game. What’s yours?

Now That You’ve Reached the End of the Rain Gear Post…
Did you enjoy the read? Are you now as obsessed with the mom rain boots as I am? Please, don’t let me be the only freak that wants 1o pairs of rubber rain boots. I am not well. But I don’t necessarily care. And how about that reversible umbrella? Seriously, I am so surprised at how long it took for folks to realize that just because it works, doesn’t mean it can’t be upgraded. I love the ingenious idea here and am definitely getting one. How about you?
