If it’s quiet in the house, Bossy is either up to no good or is reading somewhere out of sight. Thankfully it’s a 50/50 ratio. Often, I find her in her little play tent curled up under a starry lamp, among her bears, countless pillows, and soft blankets audibly ‘reading’ to her furry friends. If it sounds like a scene from Aladin, you’ve got the right idea.
Reading is such a passion of hers that our bedtime reading has become an individual activity as she assembles her set of nightly books all around her and begins her reading journey. She will ‘read’ for 30 minutes and only then am I allowed to read her something (maybe) before bedtime.
I absolutely love that she is growing up into a little bookworm. And it’s no surprise that she is turning into one either. I took specific steps to ensure that she is more likely to pick a book and enjoy its contents.
I started building her baby library while she was still growing in my belly and haven’t yet stopped. And I found the best and quickest way to go is to get books in bulk. In other words, getting in the habit of buying books in sets or collections is usually the best and quickest way to beef up your home library and save money in the process.
