It’s that time again. The cool breeze is settling comfortably in, leaves are preparing for their final brilliant display, and everything pumpkin is hitting our favorite coffee shops and bakeries. It’s fall season and Halloween is the star of October. With the season’s festivities highly anticipated, I decided to explore the internet to the furthest corners to find the cutest and most unique kids Halloween costumes!
As the summer comes to a close I can breathe a sigh of relief, realizing that summer is no longer my favorite season. Sure, as a kid it makes sense to love the summer months, what with its lack of school and other childish responsibility. As I get older, though, the hot, scorching, and humid months no longer impress me. Fall is the new trend in seasons if you ask an old fool like me.
Fall is a time for foliage awe, sweater wearing, bonfires, and jumping into piles of leaves. This year we are lucky because it seems the warmth of a sweltering summer will linger through the otherwise chilly autumn months making it mild and cozy. “As far as Philadelphia and New York City, I would expect that you’re not going to see many arctic shots or cold shots to spoil your plans here in the fall,” AccuWeather Expert Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.1
Though we are not promised much rain, my obsession for cute rain boot and umbrella combos does not subside. Even if it’s a day or two of rain, moms need to be out there in the elements no matter what.
I’ve taken some time to find these insanely cute rain boots. It’s really a dangerous job as I am so very tempted to purchase each and every single one of them. Check them out.
A Cultural Influence on Children’s Clothing
Like a Breath of Fresh Air (from the Bali)
The Tea Collection, a Children’s Clothing store, is one of my favorite places to shop for delightfully unique kids threads and accessories. It’s no surprise, really. Sometimes, I find myself on this site just browsing the girls section of adorable dresses, cool jackets, and snuggly jammies. I find myself dizzy trying to keep up with my mental “I want it” list. It’s all just so cute!!! Thank goodness they don’t design for 30 somethings’ 😉
With cultural influences of Japan and Morocco they cleverly tie in travel, culture, and a distinct fashion style for the little ones, the Tea Collection designers have really hit the fashion nail on the head. That’s, The first thing you’re likely to notice is the style. Right away, it makes a strong point on it not being your average children’s clothing store. The colors pop, the prints sing right off of the page, and the style is anything but your next door kid look.
Then, you’ll notice the great price.
Followed by fantastically durable and lasting quality. Followed by the endless layering possibilities from season to season. Followed by Teas company ethics…
And then, you’ll fall hopelessly in love with this charming little kids clothing store. Or as Tea refers to them — little citizens of the world. This worldly collection doesn’t just happen by accident either. This is part of the mission and of the guys and gals over at Tea.
It’s really exhilarating to find a company that looks good and does good and I am truly glad I found me some Tea (and I think you will be too)! I am excited to share with you – the Tea Collection! And don’t forget to enter the Back-to-School sweeps at the end of the post 😉 ! [Read more…]
Shopping for Baby Products – Enough to Drive you Insane.

ACV as a Natural Hair Conditioner – Bees Personal Review
Wouldn’t it be incredible to find a natural hair conditioner for an astonishing transformation?
“Who has time for natural hair conditioner?” I thought.
I was your typical new mom: no cut, no style in forever and the root touchups are far and few in between (at no fault of my mother, who is my most incredible stylist!). When I did make it into the salon, my request was simple – make it match my natural color. This request does not simply flourish out of my absolute love for my natural colors… after all, I liked to play with all the colors once upon a time. These days, I’d like to match it closely for the sole reason of not having to come back too soon.
Point? My hair was taking a beating. The products, whose ingredients seep into our nervous systems and bloodstreams within 90 seconds within contact, weren’t helping. The shampoo that smelled simply heavenly had to go. The conditioner that sleeked my hair into a slimy, filmy yuk was at the end of it’s rope.
I set out to find a natural hair conditioner solution. The search for a solution, honestly, wasn’t long. I found one that was not only natural but promised to deliver exceptional results. They call it – Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV.
Still, I was a bit skeptical and resistant to the idea of putting this pungent stuff into my hair. Boy, I am glad I did and here’s why. [Read more…]
No Fanny Like Moms Fanny
If you haven’t given a fanny pack a go a s a mom – you’re missing out, woman![dropcap]I[/dropcap] know, I know… it’s dated. Again. It is, indeed, so 2013, but, I have to declare, still….
I love my fanny pack. No really, I do. I have an obsession!
Leaving the house on an errand run, baby and stroller in hand (or teeth or feet – whatever you can balance all your shiieeee… errrr… stuff with), without it isn’t the end of the world but, it’s much more organized and right at my side where I need it (I also slide it to the left, like Matthew). For perfect baby skin solutions, we choose SheaMoisture products whenever possible. This brand is amazing on so many levels.
The obsession started way before my baby girl arrived. Though as she joined my life I have gone off the deep end in the search for all natural and effective baby, personal, and home products on a whole new level. Don’t judge me. 🙂 [Read more…]
Time for a Toy Upgrade
This weeks picks for the greenest toys out there are finally here. My little Bossy Bean is growing out of her baby toys and is more than eager to explore and fiddle with a new set of brain teasing toys. No longer do the little stuffed rattlers satisfy her for longer than a few seconds. Then it’s slammed down onto the floor and followed by a look as it to say, “C’mon mom, that’s all you got?”
At 9 months old I found it to be a bit of a challenge. I needed something that made her happy – colorful, stimulating, and ever so happy. She’s too smart for her own good so something needs to be intricate, time consuming, but not so complicated that it’ll discourage further exploration. I also needed something that makes mama happy – safe, natural, eco-friendly, n baby happiness (so everything above as well), of course. So, a-researching I went. [Read more…]
Bee a Mom Reviews the “EEEEW-bie”
Dang, did I give it away, lol.
After doing my due diligence in the research department, when it was time to pick a diaper waste basket I optimistically went with the highly reviewed Ubbi Diaper Pail. My purchase was, as always, made on Amazon.com and was done so around May of 2014. It is now about the 9th month mark of daily use and here are my thoughts on one of the top rated diaper pails – the Ubbi.
When I received the Ubbi I was thrilled. It was sleek and slender and I wanted to love it so badly! Ah, Ubbi why you hurt me so bad?! [Read more…]
