It’s with astonishment, I realize how right my mother was on the many life lessons she shared with me. One of those moments, in particular, struck me today, as I sit back and watch my little one playing in her Jumparoo, I am in awe.
Not long ago, she was not aware of her world staring at nothing but my eyes and the soul within, now she’s looking at the world with whole new eyes that are wildly darting at everything new, as she forms “Ma-ma”, looking in my direction, and I think to myself – How time FLIES!
Interestingly enough, I have also come across this little gem of a poem that sweetly encourages us moms to focus on the important things.
I teared up reading this poem by Ruth Hulbert Hamilton and as she now sits on my lap and I write these words, I am thankful. I am thankful for the clarity to see the trickle of moments. I am thankful for the big job ahead of me. I am thankful for you, my love – my little girl.
So as I write this, I just wanted to share this clarity with you, mamas. Focus on the things that will matter when we’re 100 and focus on nothing else.
