DH got this about this same time last year. I got the phone call from the Dr’s office–diagnosis came two weeks after he’d been running fevers up to 104 and had been generally miserable, one ER trip, 2 office visits…they just don’t usually test for mono in a 44 year old!

I did tease DH, wanted to know what college girls he’d been kissing. But it can be spread from sneezing and such…

Hope you can rest! I got it when I was 10, but it definitely wasn’t from kissing. I remember only being able to go to school in the afternoons, when I had the most strength…hope you have afternoon classes! Just try not to overdo it if you have a “good day” — I remember always crashing afterwards and feeling worse than before. Take it easy and I hope you feel better soon!

Jordana, thanks for the well wishes! I really don’t fell as horrible as I thought I would–just very tired (knock on wood). I think the fever/sore throat part was all going on before I knew what it was, so now I’m past that.

You can get mono from the air or lots of other things. I got it my freshman year of college and it wasn’t from kissing. It was miserable then and I didn’t have to take care of anyone. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

I got mono drinking out of a water fountain. There was a girl at band camp with it, and it turns out she had been drinking out of the same water fountain before me.
