One Year Ago
A year ago today, I stood outside with my family and friends on our town’s main street and watched the high school homecoming parade ride by. Just after the parade had finished, as people were still milling about, my brother called me. Mom’s diagnosis had changed from Myelodysplastic syndrome to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Shocking as the diagnosis was, we had no idea she would pass away a mere six weeks after the diagnosis.
…And so begins our season of reliving, re-grieving…mourning the loss of our mother.
