Fond Fall Memories
When I was a kid one of my favorite activities was to go into the woods with my mama and gma to go pick mushrooms and collect leaves. I loved it all; the crisp weather, the seemingly extra blue skies, the color of the fall. I could collect things for hours and often, I did just that. With my pockets full of pine cones and acorns and my fists an autumn rainbow of leaves I excitedly hurried home to arrange a fall scene of my own.
Now, in my 30 something with my own little girl I am excited as ever to relive those days. Though my baby girl is too little to do any collecting of her own, I am thrilled to continue the tradition and help her create her first memories of this magical time of year where the trees area golden and auburn hues, the weather is perfect for hoodies, and the air is filled with intoxicating burning wood warming up our homes.
What makes it incredibly interesting is that there are no rules but one – if it catches your eye, bring it home and make it last. I am obsessed with the color of the leaves this time of year as well as the diverse and plentiful tidbits that make fall so special. So, let the fun and bonding begin (and never end)! [Read more…]
