What is, “…and for people who unfix your bed after you make it???”

DD4, giving a list of people who might have to go to jail. She listed bad strangers who try to take little girls, people who steal things, people who steal your cat, and people who unmake beds. The irony is, if a bad bed-unmaker wandered into my house, he’d be hard pressed to find a bed to unmake!

Whoo hoo - lets hear it for not making beds!! I really do strive to teach my son to help out around the house, etc, however the bed making just doesn’t happen. Mine gets made maybe half the time.
On another note, I loved the question you raised last week in your post about the church’s response to a gay or lesbian couple with children. It is sad to think they would advocate breaking up a home and having a child go through the strain and difficulty of divorce, but what is the answer? I just read an amazing book, “Take This Bread”, by Sara Miles. She chronicles her unexpected journey into Christianity and how she set up food pantries in the poorest parts of San Francisco. She is a lesbian and she and her partner are raising a daugter. She raises some great questions about Christianity and faith in general. And, the book is very well written. On a more personal note, I have a neighbor who is gay (a man - Souther California) who lives with his partner, and he donated his sperm to help a lesbian friend of his get pregnant and now the twin 3 & 1/2 year old girls are being raised by a lesbian couple (in San Francisco), and their dad visits them periodically. Do we say they have no place in the church or should the church find a way to reach out to and include these families? Thanks for providing a place to ask these questions and to dialog about it all. It’s great to hear you think aloud.

LoL! Bed unmakers. Yeah, they’d have a hard time here too.

Thank you, Tracy! That sounds like an interesting book.
Jennifer, thank you so much! I feel quite honored! I’ve noticed this little award on other blogs and wished I would be “worthy!”
